십여년전부터 나는 누드퍼포먼스를 꾸준히 만들어왔다. 이익을 생각하지않고 한국누드아트의 인식개선을 위해 내가 모델들을 고용해 만들기도 하고 마음이 맞는 모델들을 모아 만들기도 했었다. 지금은 나의 영향으로 업계의 여러모델들이 아류격으로 따라들하고 있지만 그 당시에 누드퍼포먼스는 한국에서는 거의 사장되어가던 추세였다. 그래서 가능한한 관객들도 미술업계의 저명한 작가나 교수등을 필두로 예술이라는 명제를 대변하는 이들을 주로 모셨었는데 그건 단지 나의 색안경이었다. 어떤 계기를 필두로 일반인관객들과 접하기 시작한 이후부터 나의 왜곡은 깨졌다. 관객으로 참석한 이들은 그 어떤 작가나 미대교수보다도 깨어있는 시선으로, 논리적인 자세로, 열정적이고 날카로운 소통과 질문을 나누었다. 끝나고 퍼포먼스의 감동이나 여운,소감,소통따위에 시간을 할애하거나 감흥을 받지 못하고 이내 금방 떠나가는 그동안의 인간들과는 전혀 다른 자세. 이제 나는 그런 이들을 위해 공연하고 있다. 그런 이들에게 보여주고 알려주기 위해 움직이고 있다.

For more than a decade, I have been crafting nude performances—not for profit, but to awaken awareness of nude art in Korea. Sometimes I hired models to bring these visions to life; sometimes I gathered kindred spirits to create together. Today, echoes of these works appear across the field, yet back then, nude performance was nearly vanishing.

In the beginning, I invited mainly distinguished artists, professors, and those who could embody the ideals of “art”—a reflection of my own narrow lens.

Everything changed when I first opened the stage to the general audience. Their gaze was unexpected: sharp, awakened, and deeply engaged. They questioned, observed, and conversed with a passion and clarity that surpassed any artist or professor I had known.

Unlike audiences of the past, who left quickly without lingering on impressions or exchange, they stayed. They witnessed, reflected, and responded.

Now, I perform for them. I move to show, to reveal, to connect. I perform not merely as an artist, but as a conduit—so they may see, feel, and participate in the living presence of art.
